a holiday in verona

I can't believe it's been 2 years since I left for Verona, Italy! I was looking through old photos and found these pictures {below}. I took them on my first weekend there. I arrived after the holiday and the city still had all its decorations hung. The lights made the city look even more magical!

jam from italia

When I was in Verona, Italy in February, 2011, there was a Valentine's Day Festival at Piazza Dante. One of the stands sold homemade jam! Of course I had to bring some home to my family. I bought pear, mixed berries, and fig.

Today I was eating a honey pear yogurt and stirred a spoonful of the pear jam! It was delicious!

When we were in Europe, we had to eat gelato in every city we went to! Here is a look of the different delicious gelatos.

verona, mi manchi

I miss Verona. I can't believe it's been over a year since I was there. It feels like yesterday I was sipping espresso and eating gelato on the piazza. I miss the Italian narrow streets, Castelvecchio, Piazza Erbe and Piazza Bra, the hill I climbed every day to think, the cheap groceries {Dico}, the fresh tomatoes, arancia rossa {blood oranges}, and the delicious creamy gelatos from Zeno. My goal is to save enough money to go back in two years. I hope my favorite trattoria and gelateria are still there :)

time to get those gloves out

The weather is getting colder so it's time to get those leather gloves out. In Spring 2011, I studied abroad in Verona, Italy for four months. While I was there I got to travel to different cities every weekend and one of those weekends I took the train to Florence, Italy. When I was there I had to visit Madova gloves because it's one of the most famous leather glove factory in Italy. How can you go to Italy and not get leather gloves?! By just looking at your hands, the lady at the store can tell what size you are. I had a lot of fun trying on all these gorgeous gloves. I finally picked this purple gloves with bows on the end.

coffee of the day

Feeling homesick for Verona. Last week I went to the Spring 2012 Verona orientation to talk to the new students going to Verona. It brought up a lot of memories. I wish I can escape to my favorite coffee shop in Verona and sit there for hours sipping a cup of cappuccino.
