There are many Italian places on Taylor St {Little Italy, Chicago}, but I must recommend Davanti Enoteca. The menu is amazing! We love small plates because we get to try a little bit of everything.

 vasi ~ eggplant + mozzarella + tomato

 crispy pork belly + apple mostarda

mascarpone polenta + ragu of the day {pork shoulder}

  risotto carbonara~ italian rice + pancetta + sweet peas + parmigiano + farm egg yolk

 polpo con rafano ~ seared octopus + warm fingerling potato salad + marcona almonds + finnochiona + fresh horseradish aioli

verona, mi manchi

I miss Verona. I can't believe it's been over a year since I was there. It feels like yesterday I was sipping espresso and eating gelato on the piazza. I miss the Italian narrow streets, Castelvecchio, Piazza Erbe and Piazza Bra, the hill I climbed every day to think, the cheap groceries {Dico}, the fresh tomatoes, arancia rossa {blood oranges}, and the delicious creamy gelatos from Zeno. My goal is to save enough money to go back in two years. I hope my favorite trattoria and gelateria are still there :)
